FORT MONROE REMAINS OPEN during the federal shutdown. The National Park Service tours and programs are suspended at this time. The grounds remain open for touring and Visitor & Education Center and Casemate Museum are open as well as the restaurants and other businesses here at Fort Monroe Please continue to check our website for updates.
Fort Monroe Updates:
The West Bastion connecting the pedestrian bridge (postern gate) outside of the Visitor & Education Center to the interior of the fort is closed to pedestrian traffic through mid-December 2025.
Seasonal Hours: The Visitor & Education Center and Casemate Museum will be closed on Tuesdays starting November 18th, 2025 through March 31st, 2026.
