Visit Fort Monroe on the 3rd Saturday of the month from March to November and you will have the opportunity to "leaf" with a greater appreciation of some of our magnificent trees. FORT MONROE REMAINS OPEN during the federal shutdown. The National Park Service tours and programs are suspended at this time. The grounds remain open for touring and Visitor & Education Center and Casemate Museum are open as well as the restaurants and other businesses here at Fort Monroe Please continue to check our website for updates.
Fort Monroe Updates:
The West Bastion connecting the pedestrian bridge (postern gate) outside of the Visitor & Education Center (VEC) to the interior of the fort is closed to pedestrian traffic through mid-January 2026.
