Special Event: Sail250 Viewing and Juneteenth Event

June 19 @ 8:00 am - 6:30 pm
Free

On Juneteenth 2026, Fort Monroe will become a gathering place for remembrance, celebration, music, and reflection as thousands are expected to converge along the Hampton waterfront for “Navigating Freedom: Celebrate Juneteenth and Hampton VA250 Sail.”

Timed with the Sail250® Virginia Parade of Sail, the full-day experience connects the arrival of international tall ships with the ongoing story of freedom in America at one of the nation’s most historically significant landscapes.

From African Landing to Juneteenth, the event invites visitors to experience the evolving American story through music, culture, storytelling, and community gathering at Fort Monroe.

Performances include national artist Musiq Soulchild and Amerie and regional and local favorites including The Art of Noise with Lonnie B, Mad Skillz, Myra Smith and Phoenix Collective, Peggy Britt, Ashley Felder, Teezy So Dope and Zaya.

Admission is free and attendees are encouraged to register in advance to receive updated information about the event.  Register here
