Plan Your Visit
Fort Monroe is a wonderful place to visit. If you are a history buff, nature lover or simply looking for a good meal, a day at Fort Monroe is unlike any other.
Tonight’s performers will be Stan’s Big Band
Stan’s Big band was formed by retired Army musician and music educator, Jim Stanley in Sept. 2021. It’s instrumentation, including a vocalist, is that of the traditional 18-piece jazz orchestra of the 1940’s big bands. The band’s music, however, spans from the traditional ”swing” era to contemporary music performed in Latin, Jazz fusion, Funk, and Rock styles.
Bring your own picnic, chairs, and blankets to enjoy summer sunsets by the Chesapeake Bay along with the sweet sounds of some of the region’s most talented performers.
Large groups welcome. Drop-off at Continental Park, bus parking at Outlook Beach parking lot. Free parking onsite.
