Plan Your Visit
Fort Monroe is a wonderful place to visit. If you are a history buff, nature lover or simply looking for a good meal, a day at Fort Monroe is unlike any other.
On Saturday, April 30th from 11am to 3pm join us at Fort Monroe for a FREE day of fun for the whole family. All are invited to participate in hands-on activities around the fort:
– scavenger hunt in the Casemate Museum,
-eye-spy activity from the rooftop terrace
– children’s reading circle with the Hampton Public Librarian
– arch building, creating origami cannons, and much more
The museum collections specialist will be on site to show visitors unique artifacts and answer questions. The archivist, using old plans for the design of the fort, will share how Fort Monroe has changed over time and help participants make their own fort design.
This free event is in partnership with Fort Monroe National Monument, Hampton History Museum, and the Hampton Public Library.
