Things To Keep In Mind When Bringing Pets To Fort Monroe
Before bringing your pet to Fort Monroe, please review our rules and regulations to ensure both you and your pet can enjoy the best experience here at the fort!
- Regulations prohibit pets at designated swim areas (from Outlook Beach to North Beach) from May 15 to September 15 each year.
- Pets are required to be confined/ kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet and kept under supervision while visiting Fort Monroe.
- Pets are also not allowed in any public facilities.
- To avoid potential inconvenience, we ask that you bring proof of current rabies vaccination with you on your visit.
- Pet owners must clean up after their pets. If the pet damages a facility/property, the owner will be billed for any damage to facilities/property caused by the pet. Assistance dogs are welcome in all facilities.
- Any violation of these rules may be punishable by a civil penalty of up to $100 for the first violation and up to $250 for any subsequent violation.
