Join us on Saturday, May 14 from 1 – 2PM in the Visitor & Education Center for Beyond the Battlefield: Redefining Trauma Community Conversation. John Ickes of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Family to Family program, and will be sharing resources and insight regarding the mental health needs of our military community. John is retired from the military and teaches the Family-to-Family course at the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Coastal Virginia and is their Volunteer Coordinator. The Family-to-Family course is an 8 week course to assist family members of people struggling with mental illness. NAMI is the largest non-profit dedicated to mental illness and family members in the U.S. Admission is free.
