National Park Service

On March 8 from 10 am to 4 pm we will host the NY 99th Volunteer Infantry, Company D, for a living history program commemorating the Battle of Hampton Roads, which took place on March 9, 1862, in the waters of the Chesapeake within sight of Fort Monroe. Enjoy a chance to engage with living historians who portray a company of Union soldiers who were stationed at Fort Monroe at the time of the battle. This event is free and registration is not required.
