SUMMARY:Special Event:  Youth Black History Fest 2024
DESCRIPTION:Youth Black History Fest 2024 \nA hands-on experience and celebration of the heritage behind some of the most influential Black cultural art forms. \nJoin us Saturday\, February 10 between 10 am and 3 pm here at Fort Monroe.  This free program is geared for youth ages 5-17 and during the day participants will rotate through a variety of different art stations at several walkable locations at Fort Monroe.  Experiences include: \n\nAfrican Drumming with Kam Kelly and the DAY Program\nModern Dance with Leah Glenn Dance Theatre\nMixed Media Artist–Steve Prince\nMental Health and Yoga\nDigital Scavenger Hunt\nAnd more!\n\nAgain\, this FREE event is open to the public from 10 am – 3 pm and each station will last approximately 45 minutes.  Participate in as many locations as you like.  A food truck will also be available on site and Firehouse Coffee 1881 and Deadrise are open for lunch.  Space is limited so sign up early to reserve a space for your young artist!  Click here to register. \nThis event is supported by the Fort Monroe Foundation\, the Hampton Chapter of Jack and Jill of America\, Inc. and Dominion Energy.
