SUMMARY:Special Event:  Tidewater Striders--Run Distance Series #2: 10 mile and 15 mile events
DESCRIPTION:EVENT OVERVIEW:  \n10 Mile &  15 Mile      Saturday\, January 27\, 2024  8:30AM start for everyone. The 15-mile race is a RRCA state championship!  Race day packet pickup will be at the Fort Monroe Community Center\, 100 Stillwell Road\, Fort Monroe\, VA 23651.  Start/finish line will be just a short walk away.\nRace Courses:\nJanuary 27th\, is at Fort Monroe\, Hampton VA 23651.  With a gorgeous scenic course which will take you over the moat bridge and loop inside the inner Fort continue off base and over the Mercury Blvd. Bridge and then back to the base with more scenic views of the base and coastline. 10 milers will run/walk 2 loops\, 15 milers 3 loops. Finish line closure is based on a 15 minute per mile and will close at 12:15.  Everyone starts at 8:30.\nAfter Race Parties:\nWill be at Ozzlefinch Brewery\, 81 Patch Rd. Fort Monroe\, VA with each participant receiving 2 beer tickets and pizza.  You must bring your bib to Ozzlefinch to receive your beer tickets and ID check.  No bib\, no beer tickets. Post race party ends at 1:00.\nDirections: \nPacket Pickup for Distance Series 2 will be at the Fort Monroe Community Center\, 100 Stillwell Road\, Fort Monroe\, VA 23651. There is a large parking lot surrounding the community center\, start/finish line\, and Ozzlefinch.  \nInclement Weather:  The Race Director and the Tidewater Striders reserve the right to cancel or reschedule or adjust distances as needed in the interest of safety or access restrictions to the venue.  \nRegistration closes at 11:59 PM on January 26. You may pick up your race number & giveaway starting at 7:15 race morning.  We will be at Running Etc.\, Hilltop Location the Friday before each event starting at 4:00 until 6:00.  Click the link to register:  Fort Monroe 10 and 15 mile race\nThe following roads will be impacted on January 27\, 2024 from approximately 6:00 AM until approximately 2:00 PM. \nMAJOR IMPACTS: \n\nMercury Blvd/ Mercury Blvd Bridge will be closed from N. Willard Ave to Fort Monroe.\nMcNair Drive (along the marina) will be closed.\nStillwell Drive will be closed.\nFenwick Road from Outlook Beach Parking to Stilwell Road will be closed.\nOutlook Beach Parking will be closed.\nNorthgate Road will be closed.\nInside the fort\, Ruckman Road and Bernard Road from the Chapel of the Centurion to East Gate will be Closed.\n\n  \n                                                   This is a Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix and the 15-mile race is a RRCA state championship!!
