NATIONAL PARK SERVICE SUPERINTENDENT DISCUSSES FORT MONROE PLANS

Dear Neighbors:

I am excited to announce the inaugural Fort Monroe National Monument planning effort following its addition to the national park system by presidential proclamation last November. As you know, Old Point Comfort has a long and rich history. The Peninsula is also home to diverse natural resources, including ancient trees and beaches, and a variety of recreational opportunities.

Sculpture Unveiled

SCULPTURE HONORING FALLEN VETERANS UNVEILED

March 8, 2012 – The Fort Monroe Authority unveiled a bronze sculpture dedicated to the bravery and ultimate sacrifice of our country’s men and women who served in the armed services. The sculpture, Angel and the Dying Unknown, by Greg Wyatt was displayed in the Gazebo overlooking the Chesapeake Bay until May 29, 2012.
