FAQs

Q | HOW DOES THE DONATION PROCESS WORK?
A | Once you have contacted the Collections Department, you will be asked to fill out a form about the history of the object(s). Please fill out the form to the best of your ability and send it back to the museum, along with detailed photographs of the object(s).

The Collections Team meets quarterly to discuss potential donations. Should the Casemate Museum accept your donation, you will need to sign a Deed of Gift and deliver the object(s) to the museum.

Q | CAN I DROP MY OBJECT OFF FOR THE MUSEUM TO LOOK AT?
A | Yes. Please contact the Collections Department to set up an appointment to drop off the object. Please do not leave the object outside the museum after hours.
Q | WILL THE MUSEUM DISPLAY MY DONATION?
A | At any given time, only a small portion of the collection is on exhibit. The museum cannot guarantee that your donation will end up on display. However, please know that every donation provides a valuable opportunity for research and study, whether on display or not.
Q | WHAT IS THE VALUE OF MY OBJECT?
A | The museum is unable to offer appraisals or to authenticate any object. However, below are a few organizations that can help you locate an appraiser in your area.

International Society of Appraisers

American Society of Appraisers

Appraisers Association of America, Inc.
